R-Visa Religious Denomination The R visa was created to allow members of a religious denomination having a bona fide nonprofit organization in the US and are seeking to enter the US for a period not to exceed five years to perform religious activity. The alien's spouse and children may accompany or join the religious worker if certain conditions are met by the religious worker.
To be eligible for a R visa, the religious worker must engage in an activity that relates to a traditional religious function.
